Transferring an Existing Domain to Ellebyte

You can transfer a domain you own at another registrar to be managed under your Ellebyte account.

Before You Transfer

  • The domain must have been registered or last transferred more than 60 days ago.
  • The domain must not be expired.
  • Domain privacy / WHOIS protection must be disabled during the transfer.
  • The domain must be unlocked at your current registrar.

Steps

  1. Log in to your current registrar and unlock the domain.
  2. Request the EPP / Auth Code (also called transfer key) from your current registrar.
  3. Open a Support Ticket with Ellebyte, specifying you want to transfer a domain. Include the domain name and EPP code.
  4. Our team will initiate the transfer. You may receive a confirmation email from your old registrar — approve it.
  5. The transfer typically completes within 5–7 days.

What Happens to My DNS?

During transfer, your existing DNS records are preserved. After transfer is complete, you can manage DNS through cPanel or your Ellebyte dashboard.

Domain transfers add 1 year of registration to the domain's current expiry date at no extra cost in most cases.
