Pointing Your Domain to Ellebyte Hosting

If your domain is registered with another provider (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap), you need to update its nameservers or A record to point to your Ellebyte server.

Option A — Update Nameservers (Recommended)

  1. Log in to your domain registrar's control panel.
  2. Find the Nameservers or DNS Management section for your domain.
  3. Replace the existing nameservers with Ellebyte's nameservers (provided in your welcome email or ticket reply).
  4. Save changes. Propagation can take up to 24–48 hours.

Option B — Update the A Record

  1. Log in to your domain registrar's DNS settings.
  2. Find the A record for your root domain (@).
  3. Change its value to your Ellebyte server's IP address (found in your subscription details).
  4. Also update the www CNAME record to point to your domain.
  5. Save and wait for propagation.

Checking DNS Propagation

Use a free tool like whatsmydns.net to check whether your DNS changes have propagated globally.

Do not delete your old DNS records until you have confirmed the new records are working to avoid downtime.
